“Virginia is for lovers” or “Vaginia is for lovers” … which is it?

Virginia is for (platonic) lovers. (But not for mere fornicators!)

By popular vote, “Virginia is for Lovers” was inducted into the Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame on September 21, 2009. The slogan will be included in the Advertising Icon Museum alongside fellow 2009 inductees, the AOL Running Man, the Budweiser Clydesdales, and State Farm’s “Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is There.” This recognition came on the heels of Forbes.com tapping “Virginia is for Lovers” as one of the top ten tourism marketing campaigns of all time.

IN 2012 AD It seems that the words Virginia and Vagina have become juxtaposed in some bizarre manner thanks to the GOTP.

AND Because The GOTP state legislature and Governor Bob McDonald (wannabee 2012 VP Presidential candidate) say so – Virginia is now on the verge of becoming Vaginia!

This is on the heels of the Catholic church telling 99% of women catholics who are using , have been using and will continue the use of contraceptives, that they no longer have the right to sin!

But Isn’t that what confessionals and hell are for?

Welcome to the New Theocracy …. courtesy of the GOTP and the likes of Santorum, Bachmann and company.

This isn’t mere right wingnut extremism  .. it is imbecility on steroids.

The great seal of Virginia is circular. In the center is a figure of Virtus, the goddess of virtue, dressed as a warrior. I can’t believe what I am witnessing in American politics today.

The GOTP has bent over in plain site pulled their pants down and are taking a dump on the living room rug of every single American courtesy of the corporate owned, sponsored and managed media.

OUR Government is no good, OUR President is no good  … and it seems in someway form or manner ALL Americans are no good.

In fact if you put together the shrapnel of GOTP political rhetoric 200% of all americans are NO GOOD!

If you are in a union, use contraceptives, are against automatic weapons, or even vote! .. you may likely be breaking laws that the GOTP is attempting to pass or have already passed. The list of transgressions against the purveyors of the NEW truth is seemingly endless. As endless as the imaginations of any one of us reading this now!

My opinion of CNN, MSNBC and FOX

CNN would be a wimp if personified ….. limp, neutral and ambivalent … they will establish parity where none is justified between the left and right or progressives and conservatives …

The non-news portions of CNN’s broadcsts are very good – I would say PBS quality.

Wolf Blitzer is very good, intelligent but robotic and monotonous … Anderson Cooper is smug, rich and altho he does a good job of hiding it appears arrogant and leans right. Cooper also appears to be egotistical and a narcissist. I simply don’t trust him as a person but enjoy most of his shows … except when he injects his right wing politics in some sly subtle ways.

Over all the rest of the CNN news staff is constantly being neutralized and buried as far as individual personalities are concerned … there are several that I enjoy – but they get shuffled around whenever  they appear to be gaining in popularity.

MSNBC is a news network of strong independent personalties with a great degree of individualism and intellect …. not quite as neutralized and homogenized as CNN – and the corporate management footprint on the necks of pundits is not as distinct nor as heavy as it is on CNN. Even so the acquisition of MSNBC by cablevision is showing some barely discernable subtle strains of right leaning corporate intervention. The BOD and Executives reach is not apparent to viewers but eventually has an effect on the news environment. Some recent tweeks have pushed them ever so slightly to the middle. My concern is that we don’t need another CNN.

FOX tho often compared to MSNBC as the right wing variant of two extremes … is in fact much more extreme and of a much lower caliber intellectually and talent wise. The celebraties on FOX are much more contrived and have been institutionalized over a long period of time. The ego of FOX News shines thru when they call themselves “fair and balanced”  - not suprising since FOX depends almost 100% on distortions of the truth, exaggerations and outright lies to deciminate propaganda.

Overall the network news does a much better job than cable news of simply reporting news without coloring it or translating it for viewers based on the politics of management and ownership ……

Cable news has become more of an entertainment venue much like reality TV  …. you want a dose of the left watch MSNBC, an OVERDOSE of the right then watch FOX …  and if you want to chill out and are ambivalent  - watch CNN.

Corporate owned & sponsored Media ignores shrinking GOTP effect on polls

The GOTP (Grand, Old, Teapublican, Party) would appear on the surface to be concerned with social issues to the detriment of the economy and education and rebuilding OUR nation’s infrastructure.

The fact is that the OLD GOP is abandoning the NEW GOTP and moving in droves to the middle as independents.

Thus the percentage of remaining GOTP voters who favor the more radical positions on social issues is growing as a result of the mass exodus away from the GOTP by conservatives.

In fact I myself feel strongly that conservatives and progressives think more alike than not when it comes to balance and compromise and fairness in the tax code.

I spew forth quite a bit on Newsvine which is a popular site for citizen’s to seed and write articles  - most being news centric.

But as is the case in all aspects of our society today .. the corporate foot print is clearly visible on the backs of OUR necks … and the truth has a difficult time getting passed the censors of the corpocracy.

Who are these surrogates of the fabled BIg Brother we all are being told is OUR Government?

Corporations ….. and lest you forget  … the media is owned, sponsored and managed by the corpocracy.

In addition the media has been drifting away from facts and injecting more and more opinion into news over the decades.

What is unpleasant tends to lower ratings …. but unfortunately what is often the truth is often unpleasant.

Another feeling I have about reality TV shows …. which are for a growing number of americans a substitute for the harsch reality of their lives.

What I’m writing here I’m sure does not sit well with many readers.

But is must be written  - over and over  - as well as spoken over and over.

Americans are in the firm grasp of the corporate controlled mind machine we think is benign but that is in reality a malignant cancer that is eating away our minds and replacing individuality ith “group think”

The tea party represents the T in GOTP that has been there all along. Re-skinned republicans trying to revive a dying political party that bases it’s power on hate, anger, fear and division. A vile socio-economic ideology based on hate, fear, anger and division and depends upon the worst characteristics of human beings to gain power.

The GOTP has been experiencing a death rattle since 2008 and in a frantic 2010 effort, gasping desperately for meaning, they lied to their voters.

The best the GOTP can come up with is a feeble attempt at getting middle class American workers to selfishly turn upon one another.

Theology and pro-choice against pro-life ….. union against non-union, young against old, rich against poor, the haves against the have nots.

Americans instead are rallying around OUR President, whose call to arms is brotherhood and one for all – all for one.

It IS half-time America. Let’s win the second half.

And in November Americans must stand together as one and administer the coup de grâce to the GOTP.
